and veterans), law enforcement, emergency services personnel and their families
without question or hesitation.
Use experience and skills developed as a US Army Corps of Engineers officer, Project Manager and as a member of Team Coast Guard to benefit Harris County citizens.
Review of Precinct 1 assets, projects and
initiatives ensuring that taxpayer revenues are directed towards the safety,
education and general well being of our communities families and businesses
consistent with strong neighborhood values.
Have a serious review of redundant services though
consolidation of county and local jurisdictions resources reducing management
overhead
Take volunteerism to a new level, providing
necessary resources to organizations and individuals who can assist with county
needs reducing the financial burden to our community in areas such as education,
healthcare, disaster recovery and other projects as they arise. We must
encourage those that who are successful in our community that they have an
obligation of public service to create a better standard of living for
all.
Accountability and transparency for all budgets,
projects and expenditures. All public meetings will be recorded and published on
the internet for the community to review. This will include a community public forum program on at least a quarterly basis finding solutions to Precinct One issues.
Be responsive to the community. All precinct 1
employees should be empowered to respond to any citizens legitimate question
regarding county affairs. Take ownership of their concern, communicate it to the
proper person and follow through making sure it was answered.
All leadership within precinct 1 will have an open
door policy towards any concern of their staff or community being
served.
Communication. Precinct 1 and general county
affairs will be updated at least weekly through social media using Facebook,
Twitter, YouTube and appropriate websites. Regular informal community meetings
will be scheduled throughout the area for citizens to voice concerns and
hopefully to tell us what we are doing well. We will also enable use of direct
emergency text messaging for citizens of our community that choose to
participate.
Get out of the office and into the community. As an
elected official, you must get your hands dirty by going out to the projects
where community taxes are being spent observing the progress to personally
recognize and reward jobs well done.
Always be Semper Paratus, we will train every
employee of the precinct in basic disaster response and incident command to be a force multiplier for our emergency services departments.
