Precinct Goals

The following are the proposed goals  for Harris County precinct 1:

Support of our community military members (current and veterans), law enforcement, emergency services personnel and their families without question or hesitation.

Use experience and skills developed as a US Army Corps of Engineers officer, Project Manager and as a member of Team Coast Guard to benefit Harris County citizens.

Review of Precinct 1 assets, projects and initiatives ensuring that taxpayer revenues are directed towards the safety, education and general well being of our communities families and businesses consistent with strong neighborhood values.

Have a serious review of redundant services though consolidation of county and local jurisdictions resources reducing management overhead

Take volunteerism to a new level, providing necessary resources to organizations and individuals who can assist with county needs reducing the financial burden to our community in areas such as education, healthcare, disaster recovery and other projects as they arise. We must encourage those that who are successful in our community that they have an obligation of public service to create a better standard of living for all.

Accountability and transparency for all budgets, projects and expenditures. All public meetings will be recorded and published on the internet for the community to review. This will include a community public forum program on at least a quarterly basis finding solutions to Precinct One issues.

Be responsive to the community. All precinct 1 employees should be empowered to respond to any citizens legitimate question regarding county affairs. Take ownership of their concern, communicate it to the proper person and follow through making sure it was answered.

All leadership within precinct 1 will have an open door policy towards any concern of their staff or community being served.

Communication. Precinct 1 and general county affairs will be updated at least weekly through social media using Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and appropriate websites. Regular informal community meetings will be scheduled throughout the area for citizens to voice concerns and hopefully to tell us what we are doing well. We will also enable use of direct emergency text messaging for citizens of our community that choose to participate.

Get out of the office and into the community. As an elected official, you must get your hands dirty by going out to the projects where community taxes are being spent observing the progress to personally recognize and reward jobs well done.

Always be Semper Paratus, we will train every employee of the precinct in basic disaster response and incident command to be a force multiplier for our emergency services departments.
